Business Service Characteristics

Bandwidth for Many Simultaneous Users
Service is provided via a dedicated, low latency connection from your building to our closest antenna. Our network design ensures a high level of performance to accommodate the bandwidth need at the location. We serve businesses with tens and hundreds of users simultaneously using data, voice and video applications.

We realize businesses often have specific needs for prioritization of voice and video traffic and VPN access. Open Broadband uses professional-grade hardware to allow this functionality. Our Network Engineering team ensures our equipment is configured to support your needs.

Static IP Addresses and Address Blocks
Businesses may have the need to implement a static IP address for their connection. Larger businesses may require several IPs addresses in a block. Open Broadband can provide IP address space providing sufficient justification is provided to meet ARIN requirements.

Encryption
All our wireless connections are 128 bit encrypted. You can rest assured that your sensitive business information is securely being transmitted from your location. Open Broadband also supports VPN configurations and will work with your team to ensure your needs are met.

Low Latency
A hallmark of Open Broadband internet service is our low-latency connections. We ensure fast internet response by transitioning wireless connections to our fiber, and then back to our data center as fast as possible. We have multiple fiber providers in our data center, and we use BGP routing to automatically route to the shortest path across the internet. This means not only the lowest latency, but it also reroutes around any carrier experiencing an issue on their network.

Redundant Connection
Internet service is mission critical for many businesses, and an hour or two of downtime can cost thousands of dollars. Fiber and copper can be cut with a backhoe or a traffic accident that knocks down a pole. These events do not affect our wireless service to your location.

If you already have a hardwire connection from another carrier, consider adding a wireless connection with Open Broadband. A low-cost wireless connection provides peace of mind and insurance against your business internet being down.

Business Support

24×7 Live Support in the USA
Our South Carolina Call Center is staffed 24x7x365 and can be reached on (833) 880-9968. All calls not resolved by the agent are dispatched to either Open Broadband Engineering, or our on-site maintenance crews.

Service Level Agreement
We understand that internet service is required for almost every business to function, and we work hard to ensure service availability. If your business service is down for more than 2 hours you are eligible for a credit against your bill. See our SLA here.

Priority Restoration
Business and anchor institutions (government, schools, etc.) will receive priority restoration service. These customers have active monitoring and proactive identifications of outages, enabling Open Broadband to address issues even prior to the customer becoming aware they have an issue. We offer these groups an SLA of 99.95% service availability, with the ability to receive service credits if we are unable to perform (excepting Acts of God events). These groups will also receive out-of-business-hours on-site support per our agreements with our local maintenance crews.

Other Business Products and Services

IP Security Cameras and Network Video Recorder
If you are upgrading an existing video surveillance system, or would like to install a new system, Open Broadband can provide a turn-key implementation for your business, including Cat6 wiring, IP camera and NVR procurement, installation, configuration, and training. Security cameras can be accessed securely onsite or over a private web portal.

Cabling Services
Open Broadband provides low-voltage wiring service for buildings. Provide your floor plans and we can design and implement a data wiring solution to meet your requirements. Electrician expertise is often limited to power, and we can provide the data cabling expertise to compliment the project.

Multi-story and multi-tenant buildings are no problem for us, and we will use fiber runs if the length is too long for Ethernet. We also spec out the equipment needed for telco closets, and can procure, install, and configure all necessary equipment to connect the users in your building. If you have existing coax cabling, we have solutions to transition between Ethernet and cable.

Wi-Fi Service
In addition to hardwire cabling, Open Broadband can provide Wi-Fi zones for your business. Our Wi-Fi equipment supports multiple areas, multiple floors, indoors and outdoors to meet your needs. The system is single sign-on with roaming between the different access points. We also can deploy guest networks and sub-networks as needed.

Pricing
Our mission is to provide affordable high-speed internet to underserved areas, and this means businesses as well. We frequently save businesses 20%+ in their monthly bill. Show your current bill to one of our team members and ask for a free price quote.

Specific pricing depends on the requirements of the business, including the optional services listed above. Pricing also is based on our costs to provide service to your location – some areas are costlier to serve than others with our wireless service. For these reasons we provide a custom quote for each business service request.

Ways to get the lowest price:

  • If your business location is ideally suited for us to also serve local residents, and you are agreeable to allowing us to place an additional antenna or two at your location to serve them, we may be able to reduce your price.
  • Sometimes we cannot serve a business unless a tower is installed at your location. We can work out a financial arrangement with business owners who are agreeable to a new tower being installed in order to provide their service.
  • Often, we can minimize or even waive upfront costs if the business agrees to use our service for a committed time period to ensure we recover our investment. Other carriers can quote upfront fees of $15,000 – $100,000 to run a hardwire to your location. We try to eliminate or at least minimize upfront costs as much as possible.
