Recent Customer Activations
In November and early December we’ve been installing new broadband service on: Efland Cedar Grove Rd, Hawkins Rd, Covey Creek Rd, Tilley Rd, Bend Ct, NC Hwy 86 N, Walnut Grove Church Rd, Carr Store Rd, Poplar Ln, and Brookhollow Rd.
We continue to focus on serving customers near our towers and hub sites. For those of you on/near Birdsong and Dawn – we’re still working on ensuring a strong enough signal to install hub sites. We have not forgotten – it is on our list.
You will be contacted once service is availableOnce service is available at your address, we will contact you to schedule a signal test to ensure sufficient wireless signal for broadband. Once the signal level is confirmed we’ll set up an in-home installation appointment. A team of installers will set up the system, attaching an antenna to the exterior of your house in addition to an interior gateway device. If we have not contacted you that means service is not available yet. Please be patient and we will contact you when we can schedule your address. We will provide as much advance notice as possible. If your neighbors have not joined the waitlist, encourage them to do so. |
Hubs:
In November we added another residential hub to serve Covey Creek, and in early December we added another residential hub in Poplar Ridge. Many thanks to the homeowners for their support in serving their neighbors!
We are interviewing candidates to expand our team
Bob joined our Orange County team in December, and we plan on another new addition in January.
Interested candidates can view our job postings and apply via our website careers page: https://careers.openbb.net/
Tower work:
We are proceeding with our installation on the Crown Castle tower in Schley. They have given us a Spring estimate on readiness. Once this site is up we’ll begin testing and installing those in this area. We thank you for your patience in the meantime.
We are also going to place additional antennas on the Hillsborough Sports Complex tower with additional coverage planned for Jan/Feb.
The Hillsborough North Water Tank is going through a formal review and approval process before we can install antennas. We are working with the town and county to file appropriate paperwork to get this approved. We’ve spoken to several of you who are waiting for this water tower to be implemented, and all we can ask of you is your patience as we go through the process. You will be contacted once service is available.
A big Thank You to all of our customers in Orange County! This is a long journey to build a new network from scratch, using fixed-wireless technology in a challenging terrain. We believe everyone deserves access to broadband speeds and our small company is doing our part to fill in gaps where the 50-100 year old large companies have not implemented. Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to serving many more of you in 2020.
Best wishes for a safe and joyous holiday season! |
