Open Broadband made a presentation to the Wayne County NC Commissioners 3/20/18 on the progress of rolling out our high-speed symmetrical internet service in the county. The Goldsboro News-Argus wrote a story about it here.
Service is now live in Mount Olive, NC, and is coming soon to Seven Springs and Grantham. We also announced that service in Goldsboro will begin in April and will include symmetrical Gigabit service offering (1000Mb). This is the same speed that Google Fiber and Ting are offering in the Triangle, and means that Wayne County is not being left behind in having ultra high-speed internet service.
We are using a hybrid of fiber and fixed-wireless to provide service in the county. This ensures plenty of speed and capacity for internet traffic while minimizing the cost and timeline to get service to customers.
