Cedar Grove Fire Department Tower is Live
The tower at Cedar Grove Fire Department (720 Hawkins Rd) is now live. We’re installing a handful of customers around this tower in June as we do network testing. Starting in July, we will be scheduling and installing more customers. If you’re getting this email, we have your information and will be in touch with you soon to schedule an installation.
Installation Process
For those of you new to our email list, here’s a brief overview of how the installation process works. We will deploy installation crews to work in the most efficient manner possible by installing all registered addresses on one street before moving on to the next street. If your neighbors have not joined the waitlist, encourage them to do so. Once an install crew leaves an area, it may be a while before they can return.
3-Step Install:
1. Our representatives will determine if your address can receive service. We do not make appointments for this part of the installation.
2. If service is available, we will contact you to schedule an in-home installation appointment.
3. A team of installers will set up the system, attaching an antenna to the exterior of your house in addition to an interior gateway device. Installation costs a one-time fee of $99 and lasts 2-3 hours. We bill each month in advance, starting at the date of installation. We bill online-only, which means you will fill out an online form to use a credit card or bank debit.
Town of Hillsborough Approval
Last week, after many months of negotiations, Open Broadband finally received Town of Hillsborough approval for use of their water towers in our network design. This is an important next step in our network deployment and we’ll continue to share updates on our progress as we have them.
Interested in working with us?
We’ve begun interviewing local installers and are looking to hire entry-level installation representatives (see job description). Interested applicants should email a resume to info@openbb.net for consideration.
